Hip Adductor Muscles Pain

Hip Adductor Muscles Pain

Hip adductor muscles are 3 muscles, which originate from the Ischium bone of the pelvis and insert on the medial aspect of the femoral bone. These muscles are formed by Adductor Magnus, Adductor Brevis, and Adductor Longus. All these muscles bring the thigh from lateral to medial, or the midline of the body. Inflammation, swelling, and pain, usually happens in the tendinous part of these muscles at the proximal pole, due to overuse, or overstretching, and trauma, although the muscle belly can also be traumatized. During the inflammation, the hip range of motion, especially, the abduction movement will be decreased, and tenderness can be felt on the groin. Treatment : Ice therapy and rest are mandatory, but the best treatment is Osteopathy, which can bring back the ROM, and decrease the pain. Osteopathy is the easiest and fastest treatment method for adductor origin groin pain.
